Overview: If you're looking for
help with your Forest Service, BLM, or Park Service application, our Federal
Resume Writing Service is for you.
The federal government reviews applicants with a different set of standards than
the private industry. Federal resumes are required to have specific information
and considerably more in-depth accounts of your work history, duties, and
accomplishments. Because the hiring officials
can only make their determinations based on the information provided in your
federal application and resume, it is extremely important to be thorough and
forthcoming with information.
We will design a straight-forward, well-crafted Federal Resume that will total
approximately 5-10 pages in length. We will tailor your resume to specifically
address skill sets described in your target position description. Your
qualifications, accomplishments and training will be presented in a clean,
well-delineated manner.
This is a hardcopy style resume that you will be able to use in a variety of
automated hiring systems - including for systems used by the Forest Service,
Park Service and BLM (via cut-and-paste or as attachments).
We will deliver your Federal Resume in Microsoft Word and PDF formats. ASKII /
Plaintext formats are available as an optional service.
Federal Resume Writing Services include a one-time posting to the
automated system of your choice (including the Forest Service application system
- i.e. Avue Central). Please contact us for more information about the
exact details and limitations of this posting feature. Federal Resume Writing
Service does not include responses to KSAs or Evaluation
Criteria.

Application
Assessments - $65.00 Insight into Forest
Service (Avue) or Dept. of Interior (USAJOBS) applications.
Overview: If you want to keep
your financial investment low, but would still like us to look at your
application, our Application Assessment Service is a great option.
The Forest Service uses an
automated Hiring System called Avue Central (commonly called "Avue" and
pronounced: A-view). The Department of Interior agencies, such as the
National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management, use the USAJOBS
application system. Both systems have very specific requirements that you
must address throughout the application process. Many of our clients come
to us for help with Forest Service applications and, as a result, we have become
known as experts!
We are currently the only company offering Application Assessments designed
to help people through the federal automated hiring systems! Do you need
someone to look through your Forest Service application and give you some
pointers? Are you unsure of what your application is supposed to include?
Need to have someone help walk you through the process or answer some questions? This service is designed to assist candidates at any level with improving
their existing application.
Our Application Assessment Service includes
the following:
Up to twenty minutes of over-the-phone personal consultation (also
include a web-consultation when available).
Professional recommendations on how to improve your completed
application (including online applications such as for the Forest Service
and BLM).
Answers to questions about the Forest Service's automated
hiring system and online application process.
An "extra set of eyes" to spot any discrepancies in your resume or
application.
A basic proofread of your application (i.e. identification of spelling
and/or grammatical errors, checkboxes, etc.).
KSA Writing Services - $85 per response Written statements that support your application
and showcase your skills.
Overview:
Many federal vacancy announcements require applicants to provide written
responses to specific KSA statements (sometimes called Evaluation Criteria
or Technical Qualifications). KSAs stand for "Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities" and they are meant to
provide the hiring officials with verification of your experience. In
many cases, your response to KSA statements can take the place of an
interview.
Our KSA Writing Services offer professional quality responses to KSA
statements based on a simple questionnaire that you fill out when you
purchase our services. We utilize the
OPM's CCAR approach when developing responses.
Your responses will showcase your value, talents and
qualifications and work to support your entire application/ resume.
They will total approximately
one-half to one page per response, and will meet the Forest Service's automated
hiring system's 4000 character limit restrictions.
A $50 expedite fee may apply for projects that fall within our 10-15
business day turnaround.
Industry Resumes - $250
Private industry style resumes for state, county,
municipal, and contract applications. Generally 1-2 pages in length.
Overview:
WildlandFireCareers.com understands that not every firefighter fits easily into
a traditional mold. Likewise, many wildland firefighter candidates have work histories
that don't fit easily into traditional resume formats. Whether you're fresh out
of college, or piecing together volunteering with everyday jobs, we will craft a
one (or two) page, individualized resume that will showcase your qualifications,
accomplishments, and skills.
Additional
Services:
Editing Services - $65 per hour
For our return clients and custom projects.
Overview:
For our return clients,
we will complete a proofread, edit, and restructuring of the content within your
document (or federal application) to address any necessary updates. Generally,
we do not complete editing on documents that were not first created by Loomis
Hannah Wordsmithing or Wildland Fire Careers.
Our billing process for Editing Services is by the hour ($65/hr) with a
minimum of one hour and a quarter hour rate after the first hour. Billable work
includes all writing, correspondence, consults, and phone dialog. We generally
estimate 1-2 hours for basic updating. Extensive updates may necessitate a
Project Estimate to accommodate longer timeframes.
For clients who have something unique in mind, we are happy to accommodate
special orders and if you have a unique project in mind, please contact us
with your request.
Overview:
Hiring officials are impressed when applications and resumes are
accompanied by this critical document. WildlandFireCareers.com will compose a
cover letter that will highlight your resume and encourage an interview.
